On February 2nd, I was honored to present my inspiration and research for writing this book at Temple B’nai Harim in Grass Valley, an event open to the public and announced in the local daily newspaper, The Union. Why did I write it? What motivated me? How did I go about researching my great-grandparents’ lives and the history of the era they lived in?
